My friend Marc Vee is a guitarist and composer raised in Miami, known for pairing rock energy with a deep grounding in jazz. He studied classical guitar with Juan Mercadal, head of the University of Miami’s classical guitar department, and jazz with Randall Dollahon, who went on to lead the university’s jazz guitar department.

He then spent years on the bandstand, including a six-night-a-week residency with Crisis at Coconut Grove’s Village Inn and original music with Apex. In 1988–89 he toured with Maria Conchita Alonso.

Marc later turned to original instrumental composition, recording with Michael T. Blaty and performing the music live. He also played in singer-songwriter Neil Lara’s band, performing at the Stephen Talkhouse and recording Lara’s first album, My First Child, at Criteria Studios.

Marc played the guitar solo on Cōque's song, "Let Us Go" and. both guitar solos on “Dead by the End of This Song.” Today he lives in Southwest Florida, performing solo and with his band across jazz, blues, Latin, pop and classic rock.
